Art, Music and Nightlife About Town

One of the things we love about living in Carolina Beach is that we have the opportunity to have the “best of both worlds”.  We get to enjoy the casual, laid back attitude of the beach while just across the bridge lies vibrant downtown Wilmington, a community that celebrates art, music and theater.

Here are some of the events we thought sounded interesting to check out.

Art Exhibits

Living in Harmony on display at Aces Gallery
This exhibit of glass works, paintings and sketches by artist Nikki Hildebrand “explores the human experience”; the relationships between men and women and the fact that we are all connected.  Her work has been described as feeling “organic and personal” at the same time.  Encore Magazine featured an interesting article about Hildebrand herself and the exhibit  here.

Impressions of the Lower Cape Fear at the Cape Fear Museum
This is an exhibit of over one hundred digital and printed images taken by members of the Cape Fear Camera Club.  The work features the unique animal and plant life that can be found at our beaches, swamplands and rivers.  The display is meant to “show the manner of how photographers connect to a place at a moment in time.”

Outdoor Concerts

Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers at Greenfield Lake
Greenfield Lake Amphitheater is a fun outdoor venue to see a show.  The amphitheater sits just beside the lake surrounded by cypress and live oak trees.
