The Beacon House Inn is a reminder of days gone by; this original 1950s Boarding House has been transformed into a beach lover's North Carolina Beach bed and breakfast. The Inn has been updated with modern day comforts, with much of the original charm left throughout. The walls are lined with vintage photographs and memorabilia, and the comfortable décor is meant to be enjoyed! We won't try to take you back in time, but rather remind you of when life was simpler with hopes that this will inspire a very relaxing stay at the Inn. Classes are located at the boardwalk only a short walk up the beach from the Inn.  Valid for check-ins Sunday through Thursday.  Mid week summer rates start at $149 per night + tax.  This special is valid from May 27th - September 2nd 2013

~MEET THE INNKEEPER~

A warm and engaging person, Mike, relocated from New York City to The Beacon House Inn in the fall of 2012. Looking for respite from the hectic and harried lifestyle of New York City, Mike, along with his wife Heather, dreamed of running a bed and breakfast one day.  It seemed like a natural fit for them since they both loved cooking for and entertaining friends and guests.  They were able to get lots of practice in while managing vacation rentals along with their own beach house in Fire Island, New York, and then a few years later, at their country house in Woodstock, New York.

 
Mike grew up in sunny San Diego and Heather in Johnson City, Tennessee.  Shortly after high school, Mike went on tour in North America playing bass in a rock band where he meet Heather, a fun-loving vivacious music industry executive.   As fate would have it, a long distance friendship developed and eventual romance formed.

 

After touring for a number of years, Mike went to San Diego State University, where he earned a degree in Kinesiology.   Afterward, he became a high school music and PE teacher and eventually moved to New York in 2004 to be with Heather.

 
In New York, Mike worked for a non-for -profit organization, developing physical fitness programs in inner city schools while Heather -- cemented in the rock and roll business -- continued with the art of making records.  Today, Heather still holds her day job, but can be found on most weekends at the Beacon House sharing stories from the entertainment world.

 
Mike and Heather finally married in 2007, in Woodstock, New York.  Since then they have become avid scuba divers, who love the beach.  Their travels together have brought them to Belize, Barbados, Hawaii, Portugal, Italy and Spain, to name a few.  They are thrilled to be a part of Carolina Beach and are sure to provide you with warm Southern hospitality.  It is in their nature to make you feel right at home and we invite you to come and experience it for yourself.
