KAYAKING Explore the natural beauty of Pleasure Island up close and personal on a guided kayaking tour. Zeke's Island Nature Tour - This three-hour tour takes you across the Fort Fisher basin a short paddle to uninhabited Zeke's Island.  See pelicans, egret herons, ibis and other Colonial Water Nesting birds in their habitat. Sugar Loaf Dune Hike and Paddle - A paddle up the Cape Fear River along the shores of Carolina Beach State Park takes you to the Sugar Loaf dune.  See osprey and pelicans dive for their lunch from the vantage point of Sugar Loaf which affords a fantastic view of the Cape Fear.  This is a three-hour adventure. Sunrise or Sunset Paddle - These tours run between 6am-9am or 5pm-8pm.  Gorgeous colors paint the sky as the wildlife and marine animals come out to feed.

FISHING Calling All Anglers! The Beacon House Inn is just a few blocks from the Carolina Beach Municipal Marina.  We are happy to assist you in arranging a fishing charter for half-day or full day Gulf Stream trip.  Our local expert Captains have years of experience and know all of the fishing "hot spots".  Fishing charters include bait, tackle, ice and fishing license.  All you need to bring are your sunscreen and a small cooler for food and some cold drinks.  Plan your vacation at the Beacon House and get "hooked" on fishing!

SUNBATHING If you are just looking to relax and soak up some sun, we are happy to set up a rental for beach chairs and umbrellas.  No need to schlep a bunch of stuff to the beach, you are on vacation!  The rental company will deliver, set up and tear down two comfortable chairs and umbrella for you.  All you need is your towel, sunscreen and a great beach-read! BIKING There is no better way to explore our Island than by bike.  Grab a picnic and spend the afternoon on a leisurely ride.  The Beacon House is happy to set up a bike rental for you when you book your reservation.  If you are not up for the two-wheel version, than how about a surry-ride?  Pedal beside your partner in the shade...how romantic!

SURFING Did you know that Carolina Beach is home to the Tony Silvagni Surf School?  Yes, you can take surfing lessons from and Olympic Gold Medalist on Pleasure Island.  Enjoy an exciting day of surfing with a certified instructor.  If you do not need a lesson, boards are available for rent as well.  If surfing is not your thing perhaps you could try stand up paddle boarding.  These tours/lessons are offered in the ocean or the flat waters of the Intracoastal Waterway.  You can turn your vacation into a bona fide adventure at the beach when you stay at the Beacon House Inn!

YOGA  Relax your body and rejuvenate your mind with a yoga class.  There are classes available for all levels of experience from beginner on up.  You can soothe your soul at an ocean side yoga studio just minutes from the Inn.
